Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment ...

Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Railway bookings should be done through banks & post offices making it more accessible and reduce the que at railway windows. Railways can use their resources in developing the infrastructure for running trains & its safety. This shall reduce the corruption, also. The banks & cooperatives shall be benefited due to better use of infrastructure. The above shall decrease railways expense as well as increase banks income by combining the departments. Its many year ago,reservation sc/st/obc starts,still now but when it ends.no one knows.I am belonging to obc "rajbhar" ,but still i filled in "GEN".Those cndidate's father working in govt ,mother working nurse,takes benifits of sc/st & obc. MY QUESTION is--jise kabhi roti ki kami nhi,ghar acha,bank bal,wo reservation kyo le rahe hai.? kya abhi tak demography & living status sc/st/obc ki wahi hai jo start me thi.? sir,kab tak reservation rakho ge.? sc/st/obc kare pride & kabil kare suicide ? ? ?

automatic crossing using digital technology shall be installed with cameras and public addressing system at unmanned level crossing. crossing bars shall lock the area around rails intact & efficiently. there should be a perfect coordination between the nearest station that will manage the unmanned crossing and the train passing by that unmanned level crossing. we shall shift to precision digital technology from mechanical with redundancy to have flawless and efficiently functioning.

install public addressing system in train to provide valuable information to passengers from time to time like info about stations the train is about to reach etc. condition of public toilets at stations is worst, provide good toilets through corporate social responsibility and transfer the maintenance to corporate with an element of social behaviour towards the diverse society. charge almost negligible with the poor and charge optimum with the individuals who have the capacity to pay.

safety at railway stations can be ensured through installing digital technology based doors as used in metro stations. visual controls shall be used to minimize the wastage of valuable time of passengers. luggage fares charged by coolies is not standardized hence passengers have to bargain. install weighting machines at several points & charge if the weight of the luggage exceeds the permitted weight. make available plenty luggage carts with the coolies & improve their living & working condition

providing RO water on all railway stations is an excellent idea but cost of operating will be too high. panasonic has developed technology to purify water at very low cost. we shall focus on acquiring that technology. dustbins in trains is also a very big issue. only two dustbins on either sides of each bogies foe at least 72 passengers is a false perception. no body takes pain to reach the waste bin each time. we follow what we feel easy, throw it inside the cabin or outside through the window

the condition inside general bogies is inhuman. mostly in many trains railway police manages the bogies and accommodate passengers who grease their palms. we should seriously consider and shift our focus in improving the condition in general bogies by increasing the number of bogies according to the number of general tickets sold. sleeper class bogies shall be used even for general class and only poor people shall be given ticket on subsidized rates through BPL card mapping with Aadhar card.
