Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment ...

Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Indian RLY still not researcher ed based. That why frequently occurred accident at unmanned level crossing. We the people of India or Assam still hope for the best. Now Modi govet will surely do something new , which is never before. thank you.

Rly have full research and study on un manned lc gate. All are cost consuming. therefore for short duration Rly may manned through panchayat all the gate by utilising Mgnrega scheme. Some of man power should be trained and deputed at lcgate under 100 days employement scheme. They should be control through local panchayat and rly administration. Certainly it is vissible action by govt.

Most of the people die because of the negligence and are poor should be paid some ex-gratia compensation by the railways by imposing a cess of just rupee one per ticket and the funds generated can also be used for similar other case involving not railway passengers.

All station master should be held responsible for making the systems work properly like electronic display boards, public announcement system, clean environment in and out of each station etc....If any station lacks in the above said amenities, suitable action should be initiated..very very frequent surprise inspections by responsible senior officials can make the difference...

Indian railway is the leading railway in the world.but time table of the train are very irregular.cancellation and delay are the regular problems.it must be sort out.

Can we have airport like entry for platforms in all major railway stations? By airport like system I mean only people with valid ticket are allowed to enter the system and that too 15 minutes prior to arrival of the train. The advantages would be 1. No over crowding / chaos on the platform when train arrives. 2. Since the number of people will be less at any moment of time, better upkeep of the platform will be possible. 3. Only valid ticket holders will be allowed.

Like in metro in our trains coaches there should be a display and announcement system which indicates current station and announce next station, very helpful in night journey and also on new routes for new people.

The railway over-bridges on platforms are not user-friendly at present, particularly for those who have to move on wheel-chairs or who have to carry luggage. People are increasingly using luggage with wheels, but this is of no use at the time of using the railway over-bridge and the luggage has to be lifted. On Pune Railway Station, we have user-friendly bridges as while one side is with steps, the other side has a slope. The same model should be used all over India.

1. At present, all over India, the railways mostly use tube-lights for lighting purposes. With a view to save consumption of electricity, CFLs and LED lights should be increasingly used in a phased manner to replace the tube-lights. 2. It is difficult to start new trains on routes with high density of trains. Yet, with a view to increase the carrying capacity, the feasibility of increasing the number of bogies in a train should be explored even if some bogies remain outside the platform.

SECR RAILWAY BILASPUR ZONE IS ALWAYS NEGLECTED IN EVERY RAIL-BUDGET. IN BILASPUR ZONE INCOMES MOSTLY COMES FROM KORBA RAILWAY STATION AND EVERY TIME IN RAIL BUDGET KORBA DIDN'T GET ANY NEW TRAIN. BEFORE LOCK SABHA ELECTION 2014 THERE IS A TAIN RUN BY "UPA" GOVT KORBA RAIPUR INTER SITY EXPRESS FOR TAIL RUN AND BJP GOVT TOLD THAT IT WILL BE IN REGULAR BASIS BUT IN RAIL-BUDGET THE TRAIN WAS CANCELED. SO KINDLY THIS TIME NOT IGNORE THE SECR RAILWAYS AS WELL AS KORBA ALSO.
