Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Hi All, Indian railways should print full station name on e-ticket email message as well as booking confirmation message. It is very difficult to get station name by code. Also it need to display training time date with departure time, as of now they just print departure date only. thanks

Filling boys at filling stations are poorly paid, exploited by their corrupt employers, & forced to cheat hapless consumers, by disbursing less/dishonestly measured, & adulterated oil/gas. We must have a fool proof system in place to check the malpractices of oil/gas filling mafiosi. Corrupt filling stations must be penalised, as they are openly cheating the common man, which is fuel much dearer for us, as our hard earned money. DrKartikayPandey@gmail.com, 8563079751.

We can use GPS/Sensors system in our railways security so that deptt.know everything about the train(location, speed) and same is shared with trains before and after one train so that if there is any stopping caused by anything following train can make a decision to stop or go.also deptt.can send any decision to any train acc.to situation. Since train runs on track which is only changed by station master if he know exact position of all trains he can save all accidents by signalling stop to train

Sir, I am from Palwal, i am daily passenger from Palwal to Delhi by EMU, but any Emu don't move with right time, every passenger have very much anger with govt any PM, I always heart but could not say because passengers are saying right. I am well supporter for Modi and BJP, I always try to understand them for delay of EMU but everyday I couldn't oppose. No ticket checker on this route, a lot number of passengers travelled every day without ticket, please take a necessary action I hope. Jai Modi
