Found a very good information about how to manage city waste. This being used in Tokyo & yokohama, Japan. This is a technology, but mind you, citizen play an important role in sagregating the waste and help the government in managing the waste. There are particular days for a particular type of waste. Burnable, non-burnable, plastics, electronic, cans, etc. For this success citizens participation is a must.

Following are few suggestions:
1) Solar lights and Solar water heaters.
2) Rain water harvesting points in the city and surrounding area
3) Compulsion on use of LED bulbs in all public places and domestic uses.
4) Need for ring road
5) New market separate from residential area.
6) Cleanliness to be maintained by the owners of Open Plots
7) Need for scientific drainage system and recycling points (STP plants) at every 1 km distance
8) Systematic parking plans at various points.
