Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India Programme. A beta version (http://digitallocker.gov.in) of the same has been released on 10th Feb. 2015, by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India.

Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents will be done through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. Residents can also upload their own electronic documents and digitally sign them using the e-sign facility. These digitally signed documents can be shared with Government organizations or other entities.

Key features of the Digital Locker System are:

• 10 MB of free space in digital locker to residents to access their documents through Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also securely store e-documents.
• e-sign online service to digitally sign documents

Residents are invited to use the Beta version of the Digital Locker System and provide suggestions and feedback on the same. Suggestions are also invited on the use cases for services which can be additionally provided by the Digital Locker System.

Hope most of the Indians agree this, PLEASE STOP PASSING THE BILL ON LAND ACQUISITION. If you pass this bill every village/city land becomes MLA or MP's or CM's or Pinami or their RELATIVE LAND.. 100 % there is a chance of misuse. I liked all your actions except your CONCRETE Support to INDUSTRIALIST or indian Billionaire. If you want to RULE india for more than 10+ years stand for PEOPLE NOT for CORPORATES. PLEASE do this immediately. Otherwise people like us will loose confident MODI sir

Dear sir some arrests in sashtry bhawan of Delhi is just tip of the iceberg. Nearly. 18yrs back a andhra cadre honest IAS officer, M. Mohapatra was murdered in that same Sastry Bhawan by deliberatly pushing him from 3/5th floor. Np invrstigation was done to trace out the murderer. For consolation his daughter was conferred IAS by mocking the service as a rehabilitation approach. Who are those people then & now ? Khongress is more powerful when it's not in power appears to be true to its spirit

It is not safe to have everything digital till we are self reliant on hardware and software fronts. We should use open source instead of foreign corporate software. Even now we see the site pointing to US for our transactions. Why give all our data to them ? To be another East India Company Situation, this time at the hands of American corporates ?

Corruption is a disconnect between the process and tools pillar. Our government is not having effective mechanisms of tracing corruption. Therefore it has already started making the worlds biggest biometric database. The Activity is time consuming but the results would be mind blowing.

Corruption aint killing India. Corruption is every where worldwide, including Canada and US. The only difference is that here in India we have a thing called Civil Disobedience taught to us by Mahatma Gandhi. We people have forgot how to use this tool as this tool absolutely ceases the growth of our country. Many areas such as FDI in retail we hugely affected due to the general civil disobedience.

India have top brains from various institutions like IITs, IIMs,etc still do not know how to use them. Development is only possible if individuals think that they can develop. Here people focus more on how to put others down rather on how to grow. Here brains do not get right career so they move abroad. To stop we need to build careers and to do we need to have opportunities, which is only possible if we eliminate corruption!
