Digital Locker is one of the key initiatives under the Digital India Programme. A beta version (http://digitallocker.gov.in) of the same has been released on 10th Feb. 2015, by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India.

Digital Locker is aimed at minimizing the usage of physical documents and enable sharing of e-documents across agencies. The sharing of the e-documents will be done through registered repositories thereby ensuring the authenticity of the documents online. Residents can also upload their own electronic documents and digitally sign them using the e-sign facility. These digitally signed documents can be shared with Government organizations or other entities.

Key features of the Digital Locker System are:

• 10 MB of free space in digital locker to residents to access their documents through Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) and also securely store e-documents.
• e-sign online service to digitally sign documents

Residents are invited to use the Beta version of the Digital Locker System and provide suggestions and feedback on the same. Suggestions are also invited on the use cases for services which can be additionally provided by the Digital Locker System.

Just had a brush with the new Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme. It works. But, it shall be made more easy keeping in view the numerous less educated and tech savvy people. Saw anger in people while waiting for my turn at the counter. This may have been a factor in recent Delhi debacle. I hope the PM takes note of it and does not believe the bureaucrats too much. After all, voters only recognize the leader and the party symbol. We voted to save country from Coal, Spectrum, CWG etc. A few gas cylind

Sir, Our scheme of AADHAR and DBT is still feeling like we are in UPA-Congress Government. The main reason that our party loosing faith from us AADHAR-DBT scheme. How would a poor person pay the total amount of LPG or Tuition Fees of Colleges. Please consider my request. Please Stop AADHAR-DBT scheme immediately. Our government is supporting AADHAR system which is not correct. If you need income proof you need a PAN card ITR-V. So please stop AADHAR-DBT scheme.

Now Govt. of India is start a AADHAAR enabled biometric attendance system, which is "attendance.gov.in". I think if the system is open for all like as "attendance.jharkhand.gov.in" is very good for every one.' Thanks

I have found one way to save government money by removing contractor from road toll both. We can make our TOLL smart where automatically length of vehicle will be calculate and user is asked to pay that much amount where user can pay directly from their credit or debit card. In this way we can remove interference of CONTRATOR from picture and amount will directly transferred to GOV account. I think it will save more time and corruption. No big shot will ask to put their person on TOLL.

There are reports that You told the Supreme Court that government is not insisting on aadhar number. What are you doing for digital locker. You have made aadhar compulsory. Do you mean to say that digital locker does not come under government and in that case are you not asking people to store data in non governmental cloud ? First be truthful to citizens and the Supreme Court.
