Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Creating unique village authority who create a village tourist type of business type....after this if the place was in rich in natural beauty or scenery then they have to develop a atmosphere who magnetize tourist with village uniqueness and other side of the all villages are studied well and listed what products these villages have to offer to world markets and Re organising body take care the village product achieve markets and villages get profit and develop with his own.

1.the attractiveness and uniqueness of the village should not be destroyed with the industrial development and unnecessary factory buildings. 2.Proper Connectivity via roads, internet should be done. 3. Advertisement should be done not only on the famous buildings but also about the nature and about the humbleness of village and their culture. 4. Village people should be encouraged to build business in tourism actively

हमारे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में कई जगह इतनी खूबसूरत है कि, जो उसे पर्यटन स्थल के नजरिए से देखा जाए तो हमे बहुत दूर तक जाने की जरूरत नहीं होती। आर्थिक रूप से ज्यादा लाभ होगा।

I go to villages and teach students in school and college. They can become better if connectivity by road, rail is made possible. There is need for government to start courses connected with farming, teaching them how to set up small scale industry with regards to vegetables, fruits, and value addition for available resources. Building of cold storage, factories for food for packaging. Solar energy, communication, education, and research is very important village. We have to work together.

Respected sir, I would like to share some best solution for this topic that are , 1-We should give advantage to the culture of that village 2- we can provide information for organic farming to farmers for better crop production. 3- Every farmer should be trained for organic and modern farming and also between that time they should be paid for attending that sessions. 4- Factory should not be constructed in village because of pollution but yes no pollution factories can be settled Thank you

In order to promote rural tourism in the country . I would like to suggest that one vilage in each district in the country should be developed as clanest village on the pattern of Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ which is titled as cleanest village in Asia All such villages should be selected in such a way that it is near national highways / Near to popular tourist destinations of concerned state .

1. Hospitality (Boarding and logding facilities); 2. Good bandwidth / Internet (Communication facilities) with 3. High security; 4. Medical facilities as well as good maintenance of the heritage sites 5. Government approved facilitators (least scope for cheating) 6. Giving highest importance to the visitor 7. Continuous update of database of places and searching / identifying new avenues (New places of importance) The above points need to be focused first.

Promoting Rural tourism indeed a much needed initiative esp in India where there are totally different cultures cuisines and even rural practices which are not even known in the urban mainstream, local artisans, errands, food plazas with ethnic dishes, clothes wear, charkha practice etc need to be shown exquisitely on stages on urban areas, more exhibitions more recognition more employment is the need of the hour

Rural people are known to have conserved and follow their culture in best possible way. Also the agriculture based economy is something which is not glorified yet. A tour consisting information about the local specialities, food grown there and it's process, cultural heritage will attract tourists from every corner. Need is to present well what life in rural areas offer and lot of people are missing that.
