Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Every village will have unique feautures like antiques, temples, gardens, culture etc... In order to promote RURAL TOURISM there must a publicity for these villages in the famous tourist places near them such as putting banners, so the tourists visited the place will come to know about the villages near by and through navigation apps like google maps.Rural tourism will also improve employment like tour guides and also increase business option for rural products.

Tourism can be a helping source for the rural people as huge amount of people from all over the country and other countries visit rural areas for vacations to spend a peaceful time of their life with their families or friends. Travel guides and local shopkeepers gets huge profits by making new people visit to the famous spots of the place or by selling their products. Many measures and ideas could be implemented to provide a wide range of thoughts among the rural people to add income by tourism.

You need to collect data about historical places, pilgrim and other special things in Rural area. Curious people would definitely visit such places resulting into Rural Tourism. Citizens staying in Rural area should be made aware about such initiatives by Government. Proposals on paper won't work, it's real ground work that will make some difference in the overall situation.

Village signifies larger Land Areas , they can be used for Gardening of Fruits Vegetables Flowers and subsequently if added agricultural internship as subject or summer project in schools , students can directly learn from farmers and it will develop an interest among New Generations for "Agriculture". The farmers can get lots of other benifits if crowd is attracted towards them.

PM Sir - Every village has a story to tell. My village Gulsunde(Panvel, MH state) has a 700-800 old Shiv Temple. So this village has minimum 1000 year old history. This will hold true for many places in India. If we can capture the history by interviewing old and experienced village folks; we will have answers and significance of the place for the inquisitive future generations. Just need formal support from state/centre. I am ready to volunteer. History untold but true.
