Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Rural development has traditionally centered on the exploitation of land-intensive natural resources such as agriculture and forestry. However, changes in global production networks and increased urbanization have changed the character of rural areas. Increasingly tourism, niche manufacturers, and recreation have replaced resource extraction and agriculture as dominant economic drivers. thank u

It's always a dream of every Indian to make a foreign tour, but not possible for every one due to unaffordable. If some theme cities / countries ,where mostly people goes for your , like Singapore, Dubai , Malashiya , European countries etc. are setup in some far remote rural areas by the PPP mode , with the support of Govt. then such setup may be most attraction point. It will not only save lot of foreign currency , but will generate significant employment.

Rural tourism can be promoted by first cleaning that place and showing organisation over things. Like educating rural people over there that tourism will bring in money. They should always keep there village and town clean and green. Maintenance of there huts, or home making indian cultural drawings out 9f their gates which in initial times used to be there. Always keeping rangoli at door step. Also, teaching young ones abt their culture nd manners, so, tht dey cn b good tour guide dere.

Rural Turism can be made out most by having commutation facilities. Only Village people should be given oppertunity to get registered for taxi. It should be linked and capped with peace with stay concept which may be extended to have Indian Ayurved treatment wherein available. Community houses can be utilised for stay which can extended as an experience for tourists to see Indian traditions.

just keep it as it is n give donations to the gram panchayat to make hotels there n give employment to local people...so that no outsider n rich person can enter therein to start the business...ask them to start a fair of the specialty of that place or state
