Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

My opinion is: If we can focus on the literacy programs and implement the same it would be beneficial to the masses as they will get to awareness about the changes happening in the society. the program should aim at eliminating the social taboos and superstitions that will allow the masses to grasp the modern and practical lifestyle. this will develop a positive attitude among them to lead a moral, decent and dignified way of living.

🙏🏻Namaste🙏🏻 We need to attract tourism towards rural by increasing the facilities available their. We have beautiful heritage hidden in Rural India but people don't want to see it because that places usually don't have good infrastructural development and a good services. 🇮🇳 Jai Hind, Jai Bharat 🇮🇳

me and some of my friends have started a concept on an experimental basis. we call it the SUIP. We will pool our certain part of savings a month and use it to adopt a family or their place in a rural area and help them to earn more either by rural tourism, adopting a home and giving them an additional source of income. this concept is like mutual fund investing but not in stocks or startups but real businesses at rural and grassroots level.

Honourable,Prime Minister Rural tourism can be improved by, 💎Development in transportation, availability of food restaurants and pure drinking water. 💎Improvement in AGRICULTURE,so that both Indian and foreign students, lecturers will visit the fields to gain more knowledge on farming. 💎Many technological institutions and instruments should be brought to villages as still there are many remote villages. 💎Indian cultures should be displayed every month in a big carnival in rural areas.

Tourism can be developed/ improved by 1) Identify tourists spots in the surrounding region. 2) Make available transport facility connecting all these places 3) Apart from tourist attraction, provide space for local market and every day organize one cultural activity for the tourists 4) Provide licensed guides and where necessary, provide informative boards/posters 5) The gram panchayat/ municipal corporation local M.P.s and MLAs should be responsible for maintenance of the site

We can improve Tourism in Rural Areas by : 👉Spreading the crafts that are practised in Villages. 👉We can prove the importance of classical dances which are practiced in villages like villupattu, Poikal kuthirai and etc, 👉We can make the roads and other basic facilities like electricity, Hospital and other things proper. 👉The increased technology should not affect the lives of farmers and agriculture. Thank you all. 🙏🙏
