Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

With out villages there is no development of towns and cities. The culture and various traditions originated in the villages. Every one of us visit our villages and our relatives and friends villages at least once in a year. With minimum facilities villagers live very happy. The concept of our government to develop tourism in the villages is very helpful as well as healthy. Definitely we can learn a lot by visiting villages. In this way, through tourism we can help them.

Rural tourism can serve as an important source of tax revenues for local jurisdictions and promotes the usage and sale of local food products. Rural tourism prevents viable traditional occupations from being displaced and offers rural residents the business opportunities and creates new employment opportunities.Rural tourism may be defined as the movement of people from their normal place of residence to rural areas for a minimum period of twenty-four hours to the maximum of six months.

Dear Modi ji, We are very privileged by our social reformers who have given us a free India to be proud upon. These reformers were severely from rural areas, hence tourism can be started in these places where they were born, where they met with other reformers to start revolt, from where they got revolutionary ideas and as such. But please sir I would request you to please not to spend a massive amount on building their statue rather make hospitals on which donations can be given and FDI too.

Tourism is the biggest source of income in India. Tourism can help people to refresh their minds, spend some quality time with family and enjoy the moment of new place with friends and family. Rural areas like village, small town become tourism in the culture and traditions. I thought tourism effect the people of some rich class, they hesitate to go to small villages but the beauty of India is villages those who follow the culture and traditions.

Govt can not be the custodians for all temples and places of tourist importance as there is not enough funds available to restore and maintain them. You can help make small groups who can restore and maintain them. Govt should help them visible all over India or in the world through social media so that they can self sustain. People can govern much better than the government.

Tourism is not restricted to natural beauty of nature. It requires creative minds to make people walk to your place by making it unique, displayiable, safe, reachable and liveable backed by law and order. I think, we can look into the prerequisites of these requirement and plan the activity by creating the district wise committee, let them submitt their report on proposal of idea and work on commercial viability.

मैंने नार्थ ईस्ट का भृमण का किया वहां के गांवों को लोगो के जीवन को देख कर यही लगता है कि बहुत काम की जरूरत है ये लोग मुख्य धारा से बहुत दूर है ,हमारे राज्य उत्तर प्रदेश में तो गरीबी है अब गांवों का विकास हो रहा है गांव के लोग भी बहुत कुछ जानने लगे बहुत कुछ देश दुनिया के बारे में समझने लगे पर उनका क्या जिन्हें ये पता ही नही हमारे राज्य देश मे क्या हो रहा है अतः इनके विकास के लिए काम हो जय हिन्द जय भारत

The people revise and restructure rural place and get to invite the tourist and with the help of rural campaign on tourist point on national and international level in live vedio recordings and importance of unique place in our life
