Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

बहुत बडीया संकल्प है , हमे बस जो भी गाव tourismके पात्र है उसें बढाव देना है, जैसे की मेरा शहर के पास है और यहा बहुत पहाड है लोग सुबह शाम यह घुमने आते है तो हमे बस पहाड पर पार्क बनाना है। जो अब तक नही हुआ बस यही करणा है।

In blind race of so called development in terms of industrialization and urbanization, we have forgotten our ancestral roots which lie deeply in the soil of villages. We can make connections between our villages and tourism industry to showcase the true culture of india. It will open the doors of economical development for rural life. We can give a chance to urban citizens from all over the world to see rural india in pristine form and send a message for conservation of environment also.

GDP share from Agriculture sector is merely 15% whereas the population engaged in Agriculture is 65070%.So Tourism in Rural Area is an excellent idea which will give a sizeable money to our farmers. Many people in Cities have their origin in Village and will love to take their children to villages in holidays. The Farmer may make facilities of staying. Ministry may help the rural people to have a common website. finance and guidance. I will submit some details also.

Every village or every TALUK shall havesuffient DRYER to dry the paddy or encourage people to sell not as paddy but as RICE. Many Rice Mill Will come in village they supply Rice to RATION SHOP 2.RICE ATM will be installed in village 3. Paddy shelter should be constructed for every DIRECT PURCHASE CENTRE in COVERY DELTA region in TAMIL NADU and in INDIA THANK YOU MOHAN D

India is the country of village culture. About seventy percent population lives in rural areas. Our rashtrapita mahamatma Gandhi says that real India lives in village,if you want to develop India then you should develop rural areas. There are many tourists points in rural areas. Some effort for development of rural tourism.. 1-religious based tourism (up, tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Bihar etc). 2-Natural resource based tourism (uttrakhand, rajasthan, jharkhand, chhatisgarh, jammu and kashmir)

We can attract tourist by let them live in rural environment I.e. living in a hut,with natural resources ,like milking cow or buffallo for making tea,grow vegetables,food grain etc.for meals take long walk for fetching necessities, enjoy natural streams for water and sleep beneath the sky on khatiya..Modus operandi may be through tourist department or on ppp basis.

Given the current situation, there are multiple ways to bring rural tourism into the light. Experiential learning: - Farming: with urban folks now picking up gardening as a serious hobby, arranging farming camps where people can sign up and come in and learn from rural people on how to grow vegetables, fruits etc will be beneficial. - Arts & crafts: arrange camps where people can come by and learn region specific arts and crafts which can help bring footfall to said region

It is the time to develop rural India, so far most development done in major cities and metros caused migration from village to cities, now reverse the situation by no power cuts, drinking water, drainage roads, clean and green villages on compition basis by encourageing solar power

Tourism department must pay attention towards rural background of India as India's soul lies in villages. We should not forget that our ancestors developed our civilization from rural areas they belonged to villages and India is famous for its villages. Tourism department can take different initiatives in making rural life strong by providing facilities to tourists to visit and enjoy village life.
