Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Clean and simple food, water, cleaniness of the area, offering help to the invalid and older tourists, showing kindness + giving food + water to animals of the street will definitely promote tourism. Lack of cleaniness will give health problems and hence people will be afraid to come.

Infinite chances are there to develop rural India &the subsequent tourism,provided there is no law&order problem.In urban India,comparatively it is easy to manage,but in rural India,it is a co.lex problem.One of the many ways to solve the problem could be to give 24×7 patrolling dutieson contract to retired militery,police or allied service personnel,from that very area(local).These agencies could help the police stations which maybe situated in nearby villages or towns.Also ent village-CCTV cam

First of all find all those places which can have good tourist traction. Secondly create awareness for Indian tourism and give incentive to Indian citizens on visiting these places this will help a lot. Why to depend just only on foreign tourist ? We need to be self dependent on this sector. Thirdly develop those areas. Bring more amenities with good rail and road connectivity and if possible also increase the air connectivity which help a lot. This can act as booster for indian tourism

We can make rural India more comfortable due to improvement in roads and filter water lines in every rural area of India. First thing to became rural India. The govt should cancelled the reservation system. The reservation for all community is on the basis of economic condition. Not to the caste system. This reservation is fully demolished than India can become more powerful and there will be more development in rural india

Rural areas or small town- provide free dress to poor married women, Free basics Toolkits to small independent Electrician, Machanics, Howkers, chaiwala, Barbar,and farmers. Free one big Tiripal for each small house those are deposite minimum rs100. In bank and pay minimum tax every month for 21 years they will get retirement or any other Benifite after 21 years. 15 years ago, I arranged a visit of Japanese team to khadi institutions in villages near Jaipur. They were super excited and impressed by the concept, villagers' nature and devotion and above all the contentment of the poor class. We need to improve: 1. infrastructure, connectivity and facilities 2. law and order 3. transportation 4. organized trips ( social tourism) 5. Educate youngsters on hospitality 6. Hygienic food 7. Cleanliness 8. Tie-up Tourism cos. 9. AirBNB type stays

हमने हर साल गाव गाव और गली गली स्वच्छता अभियान चलाया था लेकिन आज भी गंदकी बहोत है तो सब से पहले हमें इस के लिए ठोस कानून बनाना चाहिए और किसीको भी इस के लिए बक्षना नहि है। स्पष्ट रूप से जिम्मेवारी सौंपी जाय और इस के लिए पंचायतों को खास तौर पर आदेश जारी किया जाना चाहिए।
