Every year 27th September is celebrated as World Tourism Day. This year the theme of World Tourism Day is Tourism and Rural Development. Tourism helps rural communities hold onto their unique natural and cultural heritage, supporting conservation projects, including those safeguarding endangered species, lost traditions or flavours. Tourism has proven to be a lifeline for many rural communities. The sector is not just a leading source of employment, particularly for women and youth but it also provides opportunities for territorial cohesion and socio-economic inclusion for even the most remote regions.
Our villages and the people who live there are a true custodians and manifestation of our culture.
As we work towards more sustainable development of our country, developing related hard and soft infrastructure and promoting tourism in rural India is much required.

Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with MyGov invites you to share your views ideas on Rural India- How it can leverage tourism.

Development of Remote areas 80 percent Cargo and 20 percent passenger traffic, in the initial stage. With this formula, remote villages will get strengthened Financially. Dairy & Agro products will be pooled up from nearby & surrounding Villages and transported instantly to the needy places in Cities. With this Project, we can reach remote areas, with which we can minimize Unemployment, by reducing flocking to nearby Cities / Towns. Details Link:- https://bit.ly/33wrTaS

Better connectivity i.e roads&transport facilities must be good.People should be educated to minimize language barriers&they can interact with their tourists. There should be a theme park in every village which can show the speciality of that region in terms of dance, music, food, etc.which is maintained by the villagers themselves. In that theme park they can use the mountains for climbing & bungee jumping, long forest roads for a nice walk & cyclingThis process improves the quality of life&economy

Rural India is a treasure of tradition, culture, social exclusion and environmental impact. To lift rural India is the best address is tourism promotion like complete digitalization of population, village, GP and Tahasil and beautification of hidden or unidentified tourism destinations. A survey should be on rural India is indispensable to explore tourism destinations say religious relate, seasonal base destinations and beautiful and attractive spots, water areas and hills top beauty etc.

1. Ensure easy and hassle free access; 2. Entry fee, if any, should be nominal; 3. Consider introducing Helicopter services (on some trial basis) in respect of a few selected ones; 4. Give wider publicity; 5. Make proper arrangements for tourists' "Stay and Enjoy" ; 6. 'Clean and Green' surroundings also hold the key; 7. Nominal fee based 'Guidance' services may be provided.
