The only way to change the attitude of people towards specially abled friends is to empower them. Social changes dont take place without empowerment. When we dont even have facilities to enable a differently abled person to access public utilities where is the question of ensuring them dignity. They find them helpless at every stage of life despite a statutory act granting them all fundamental rights. the Act was enacted in 1995. But even MSJE does not have barrier free access for them. Sad!

Some Ideas.. 1.Goverment Scheme to Give job to every differntly abled individuals to let them live life respectfully 2.Social welfare scheme to help differently abled individuals to show what the goverment can do for them 3.Special committee for differently able person so that the can have one point contact for all their grievieances

Having a brother who is mentally challenged (retarded) from birth, I often wonder about what will happen to him after my mother passes away. I am wondering if we could start a pension scheme for differently-abled people (specially with mental retardation) so the financial security will make sure that they get taken care by a group of people (either family or friends). We need to be thinking about changing our attitudes toward these challenges as a society. Thanks.

friend I have a question that is strucking my mind since last 6 month, my elder bro is handicap by both legs and arms, he appeared for the exam of group d in Rrb Wr, Mumbai and passed the same with good grades, but he is recently rejected by railway board giving the reason that he is handicap by both legs and arms, my question to u and modi govt is '' if this is the justice given by u and your govt to handicap person,who are generally very helpless?'' if it is crime of that handicap child that he don't have 2 lags and arms in proper conduction. today all are running behind money and business, if social responsibility have no values in politicians life? To inculcate the sensitivity towards the differently abled, schools should be inclusive in nature. How to handle these children, each teacher should be properly trained. For training the teachers, training material should be developed first both printed and non printed. With the help of this exemplary material, all the teachers in regular schools should be trained. How to assess these children so that their learning may be enhanced, is the urgent need of the hour so that they may grow in India

Dear Sir, attitude towards specially abled is big challenge.People should make aware that person with disabilities are integral part of our society.They have equal rights and productive member of society,unfortunately people think that specially abled are burden on the society.This attitude need to be change through awareness ,equal opportunities to specially abled and joining hand with NGOs.Every govt.official and service providers should go through sensitization program. Hope for the best.

So we need to provide devices which can read for them, even some devices which can convert their speech to written texts. We need a lot of investment in technology to build a good overall ecosystem for them. Just one off solution wont work but we need to think on a wholesome lifestyle of a physically disabled and then think solutions on the basis of that.

Now say for a person with his legs disabled we need to provide good pavements on roads, slopes in all possible buildings and if possible automated wheelchairs. Even in our local buses we can try to build platforms which can help disabled to get in sitting in their wheelchair only. For the people who are wear in vision and want to study we need to really enable our schools and colleges to make arrangements for them. They cannot read or write like normal children.

First of all we need to make them feel that they are self sufficient and do not need to take help from anybody in this world for anything. End of the day they are also human beings and do not like to be seen always as needy persons or someone who needs a help always. So the first thing is to boost their morale. Now the morale wont only come with words. We need to provide them facilities. So for facilities we need to clearly elaborate on all types of possible disabilities existing in India.

Attitude can only change with awareness. The awareness drive can be done through, inducting the topic in our education syllabus, frequent information sharing through mass media, setting the basic infrastructure barrier free that more and more differently able can access it. Also give opportunity to the differently abled so that they can come out and be visible.
