Corporation of Chennai is preparing a proposal towards Smart City Challenge which would include city wide smart urban solutions as well as identification of areas within the city for its implementation.

The proposal would be defined primarily based on voice of Chennai residents. An extensive citizen engagement programme is established by Corporation of Chennai to document the views and concernsfor the same.

Residents may post their opinion and ideas on civic services such as transport, parking, water supply, sanitation, energy, housing, IT solutions,health, education, safety and security. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Chennai would not only support a better tomorrow for Chennaites, it will also make Chennai a strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.

Chennai citizen and community is its biggest strength. Let’s participate to make this proposal inclusive and meaningful for every common man, every citizen.

Smart city should have intelligent land-use planning with following - Location assessments and eco-design of the park, considering its smart integration with the surrounding environment - Master Plan and engineering for the physical implementation of the project - Definition of the park's strategy and its governance model, aligning it with regional and national policies.

INFRASTRUCTURE: Wherever possible linking of a Town coming under Chennai Corporation, with train route is suggested to save fuel, time, money, SAFETY etc. For example, Manali New Town, which was sold by the then MMDA, 40 YEARS BEFORE, showing in their leaflet, a train link, is yet to be linked!! Fortunately this poor town surrounded by containers, is coming under Chennai Corporation since 2011!

INFORMATION &TECHNOLOGY: We need to have more and more e- center at least one e -center for each Ward in Chennai Corporation to access public for services like property tax payment, Electricity bill payment, Water tax etc. Also awareness to be created among public for making use of e- center for services like pass port, bus/train ticket services at nominal fee, even to express their grievances in their ward! CONCERNED WARD Councillor shall be made responsible within a nominal time to answer!
