Residents may post their opinion and ideas on civic services such as transport, parking, water supply, sanitation, energy, housing, IT solutions, health, education, safety and security. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Chennai would not only support a better tomorrow for Chennaites, it will also make Chennai a strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.

I would suggest that Government / Prime minister to first define what do they mean by smart city and invite suggestions. They must provide a structured format by listing the vital factors to be addressed for qualifying as smart city and invite suggestions .Then it will be easier for consolidating the same for consideration as otherwise it will be a futile excercise and it will land into a total cofusion and Govt. will lose the focus.

Committee to be formed consisting of Corporation Officials / Govt. Servants and Citizens to go around the city to assess the action to be taken for the roads, storm water drains and platforms. (1) The platforms are to be cleaned of mini temples, TNEB distribution boxes and made available to the citizens. Many houses have also covered the platform with ramps to help in taking their vehicles inside.

Greetings For effective garbage clearing, existing garbage bins may be replaced with mini trailors of 5x4ft size, which can be pulled by a small 30HP tractor to common transit yard, where these trailers can be emptied into big trucks to carry to dump yards. Presently a large trucks deployed into small lanes, which completely chokes the traffic. In the new system, single tractor can pull multiple trailers. Tractors should bring & place the empty trailers and pick-up filled trailers from there.

All bus shelters shall be proper parking bay for the Bus to have smooth passage for other vehicle. Most of the buses are parked in the middle of the road. Engage private vigelence companies if the buses are unable to control by the police. so that neutral action will be taken against the traffic violators. Let us think something inovative, if the conventional system not working and change the law frequently till we achieve the best result. Like Dubai, traffic violation must be considered.

Traffic violations must be taken as first priority for the safe and secured life of innocent people. By arrogance shown by the two wheelers and four wheelers innocent people becoming victim and there is no big punishment for the violators though it is in the law. the enforcing the law is very lean and it was enjoyed by the social abusers.

Water consumption must be regulated through meters in all houses. Shall get money for the excess usage. Public must aware the operation and production expense of treatment plant. If this is being done, all the areas can be covered without any water scarcity.
