I as a common businessman can only say that it will be more convenient for me to have a Financial year from 1st Jan to 31st Dec. Common man considers his year ending with the change of calendar year, also there is a confusion in assessment year & Financial Year. There might be many challenges on Govt. part to change it but for us it will be convenient.

I would suggest to go with Jan-Dec. So that I no need to keep in mind two type of year (1) calendar year (2) financial year. Not sure how it would impact the finance guy. But I am sure for common man it would be easier.

Financial year should change to Jan - Dec to match with other countries in the world. This would be easy for NRIs working abroad to match their income their and here and according to that pay the taxes and avoid mistakes.

financial year start from 1 April should be changed because starting time there is starting of summer. Summer is too hot.Everey body does not give his best.VACATION is also started at this time.No body is in mood of work.In my opinion actual work start from sept.-oct. of the year.therefor no work complete in financial year time.IT SHOULD BE FROM 15 JANAURAY OF THEYEAR.THIS WILL SOLVE ALL THE PROBLEM.

Let financial year be any FINANCIAL STRENGTH IS REQUIRED, bring the black money on records, bring slab of service tax by removing service tax on poor people.
By changing financial year, country will not come, it will come up on sound financial policy with easy laws.

In my view the FY cycle should be changed from October to September so that we are ahead of other countries in doing the businesses. Also looking from the festival season across the country, this time period fit well.
