When our GOVERNMENT & CONSTITUTION DISCRIMINATES the seat to a candidate for a common entrance exams based upon the marks how can anyone expect development. And why have a common entrance exam where clearly a candidate of a reserved category with lower marks and capabilty gets a NOT DESERVING SEAT. Maybe in Medicine or any other. They even get a permanent JOB also because there is RESERVATION just about everywhere.

for developing the best teachers it is must that the best students are coming to teaching profession. in today's commercial world it is a tragedy that teaching profession has become the last choice of any student. a person who is unable to achieve anything becomes a teacher. that means teaching profession gets the leftovers of the society. this scenario has to be changed if we want to develop the best teachers. all airy talks of idealism are not going to produce good teachers.

There is huge shortage of teachers in schools (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan)while we have huge graduates engineers (B.Tech/B.E) who aspire to become school teachers but couldn't because recruitment eligibility is B.A./B.Sc./B.Com + B.Ed. ....why can't it be B.Tech(Any stream)+ B.Ed., subject to qualifying Teacher's Eligibility Test(TET). A graduate from any stream can become IAS/IPS after qualifying UPSC exam while there is no such flexibility to enter in school level teaching after qualifying CTET!

The main criteria are: Recruitment process should be full proof. Revision of teachers' training courses syllabus- B.Ed, NTT etc to meet the requiremen of 21st century. Trainers pool formation on national level who train the teachers. Life skills, executable skills and employability skills to be taught at per grade need. Assurance of teachers availability in schools- Bio-matrix system Promotion/Increments on the basis of teacher's portfolio. principals/ Vice-Principals training.

Provide proper training to teachers and do not engage them for other govt activities, e.g Polio Vaccination, Election Duties, Census etc.Teachers training curriculum/methodology should be designed in collaboration with reputed persons with practical exposure on that particular subject.Teachers should get exposure to meet and interact with Experts from Industry, society.Teachers should be evaluated (based on set KRAs) every year and should be Rewarded/Punished accordingly to bring accountability

So only well known professionals who are practically doing their feild of work and also has passion to teach should be allowed to teach.Their lectures should be freely available on the net and on fixed days students should be given oppertunity to interact with them directly.

Taching is an art,skill and passion.Most of the teachers in the preasent system are the one which could not be selected in competative exams so they kept on adding the degrees and ultimatly got selected into teaching profession which was not their passion(There may be some exceptions.More so teachers in professional engineer colleges only teaches their subjects theortically as they donot have the practicle experience in engineering(computer or some related braches may be excptions).
