Area based development shall be a combination of retrofitting and redevelopment of 1015 acre of land which include

i) RETRO FITTING of Core city (around the fort area)

ii) REDEVELOPMENT of old prison area, the lake front development and surrounding areas.

To make Rampur an economically sound and self-sustained city, the image of the city has to re-establish with the promotion of local handicrafts, restoration of tangible and intangible heritage and improving the quality of life. The projects identified are in line with the vision and goals.

Promotion and skill development of local handicraft & Rejuvenation of core city will transform Rampur into a vibrant central business district. The area has a strong emotive association for all, as it represents Rampur's socio-cultural identity. It will become a more accessible, decongested, & walkable city. It will ensure that Rampur becomes an economically viable, culturally dynamic & environmentally- friendly city with gains evenly spread across citizen. The city’s potential to develop as a stopover tourist hub and its socio-cultural inheritance has been tapped in the area based proposal.
