In order to equip them to look after their needs, it is necessary to impart skills to them. Most of them are unskilled and this makes their rehabilitation in alternative occupations very challenging.

What are the ways in which beggars/ destitutes can be skilled and gainfully employed so that they do not return to begging?

Participants may share success stories, as they may be aware of.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 18th November, 2014.

by doing this we address many of the issues like scacity of skilled labourers, by desiging rehab in rural will help rural to earn livelihood and not turning to urban, secondly the crime rate will also go down, human trafficing will also stop, and above all we can join this dependent people(would not say beggar) to main stream..

the very first thing needs to be done is to give identity to each of them.Because as we know any thing we want to start off with we need some identity document.Secondly in each state Rehab facility should be design in any rural areas, where talent hunters can judge their abilities and start training them in to it, like if any beggar is good in carpentering or plumbing he can be trained.also there are many children in begging which can be developed as our future atheletes with proper training.

I can not understand why PDS and Gov't scheme not helping the beggars.it means this is the failure of democracy of people. Once beuroucray in India yet believeing in shahib giri. Question arises that how responsible people are not giving result and still having a chair. Govt must to convey vary clear message to society. We choose better than worst but necessary duty comes on whole system.culture changed by high class of political will. From top to bottom. Jai hind jai Bharti jai Vijay kare

Identify all beggars, issue them ID cards. Out of these all who are in good health, engage them in MNREGA activities immediately. This could be their lifetime chance to get into mainstream of society. Those who are not in good health, should be taken care by the state government somehow. Having beggars who beg for even food to survive, is a shame for all of us who want to have a pride for our country. If govt initiates we will donate generously for such a noble cause

Since mostly the beggers are uneducated so they can be given a chance to work in terms of construction workers with accurately paid waves by the government. The beggars should also be given appropriate houses to live for. They should also be given the chance to avail better health, schooling facilities for their children and an access to all possible rights.

human trafficking is one of the major situations with which dealing in a vast country like india is difficult but not impossible. it might take a few years to stop human trafficking but its good. our constitution has copied laws from the most developed countries so why can't our country become as developed as other nations. housing infrastructure like in usa can be built for the poor sections of the society so that human trafficking stops.

We should ban begging at all india level like total prohition of liquer. We should provide NGO or corporates under CSR operated shelters for those caught for begging. This should be totally exempt from income tax. These people can be used for clean india campaign. This will ensure stopping of exploitation by organised syndicates whose property should be attached to government like black money holders.

Polythene ban : this is also very dangerous problem arising in India, many times govt imposed such bans but nobody following these bans. People are using plastic bags openly. Please ban it completely and strictly for the sake of human existence.this is a time bomb kind of thing more dangerous than atom bomb.People are ignoring this plastic issue but this may become a risk in whole human existence one day. Please take this seriously this is a big danger for our future.

Can we assign the duty of cleaning the roads and streets to beggars and in return they will get wages. It will help in making India clean and also the beggars will get jobs so that they can get their basic needs without anyone's help, they can rely themselves.

It is easily said that we should stop giving them anything. there are many instances where a man may look healthy, but he may not be able to do hard work. We should identify the needy and try to rehabilitate them. Once a boy came begging to our house. There are boys who come begging and when properly motivated and encouraged, they go back home to study in their native places. We had such an experience in 1980s.
