“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

passive infrared sensor based led lighting to be made the norm so that when nobody is present in a room the lights automatically get switched off. and in case of tube lights a ballast based light intensity regulation as per the ambient lighting of the room must be made public so that only that much energy gets spent as is required, if the room is sunlit then the light delivered can be reduced

Nature has meant night life for plants and animals. Let us keep our sporting activities to day light hours. We spend hours each day watching commercials on TV.Let Corporates maintain our infrastructure as CSR and in turn get advertisement in public places. Let each municipal corporation update a web portal on daily pumped water losses. Let water management efficiency by municipal corporations be ranked.

Saving of electrical energy for clean India It is said that one unit of electrical energy saved is one unit of electrical energy produced. To keep the nation clean it is mandatory that we use electrical energy in most economical way. Due to typical characteristics of electrical energy it has to be consumed the moment it is produced. Suggestions are invited from our team members to minimize use of electrical power consumption in industry and domestic consumption.
