“The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” ---Anonymous

Energy resources have transformed human lives and lifestyles. Energy resources have allowed for human achievement and ambition to move from the potter’s wheel, farmer’s plough and the weaver’s loom to space missions and robots among others. However, the modern world looms in the shadow of a severe energy crisis: the result of unsustainable and inefficient use of energy resources.

Unsustainable and inefficient energy consumption threatens the very basis of life as we have come to know it. In the face of the increasing scarcity of energy resources it is imperative that we launch a committed, concerted and cumulative effort towards holistic energy use habits and sustainable consumption patterns.

Energy conservation most importantly means that conservation becomes an all pervasive habit, an everyday philosophy and practice that aims to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, adoption of energy efficient lifestyles and fostering innovations in green and clean energy technologies.

D&NHPDCL invites suggestions, guidance, comments from citizens, self-help groups, environmental organisations towards developing Energy Conservation as a habit towards an energy secure future.

Sir, Some recent NASA videos show alien technology extracting energy directly from the Sun and vanishing in a moment. We might be far from there, however, we can still harvest Sun's energy at a much much larger scale. I'm sure our solar mission will be a success. A country has been working on solar ink that can be printed on any surface. This eliminates the use of traditional solar pv cells and brings down the cost. We too, need to research more on alternative ways of capturing solar energy.

Hi, I want to add on Swach bharat abhiyan related to dustbin availability at all places. I suggest to put a simple ring tied with the poles at public places on which a dustbin polybag can be add and change on daily basis in morning. effectiveness: 1. Atleast Dustbin will be available at all places 2. It cost minimal(20rs), so that we can also change the ring also - if required. 3. If polybag is full with dust So it can be replaced easily with another polybag. 4. Can add more ...

I would request you to ban the use of crackers in our country, specially in cities like Delhi. Diwali is festival of light not of bursting crackers which causes 3-4 types of pollution like air, noise and land pollution etc. I haven't burst crackers since last 8 years because at that time I got to knew about its harmful effect on our environment.

As per an international report India will face a huge water scarcity by the year 2030. To stop this we have to work on proper water conservation measures and also it's proper usage. I see at many chowk's and chauraha's there are water fountains where water is wasted for showoff. Instead we can plant a peepal tree or bamboo tree there. Peepal tree produce's oxygen even in the night and bamboo plants grow fast and give good amount of oxygen. This will reduce polution and make sorrunding's cooler.

The most common idea that comes to our mind when we talk about energy conservation is to replace CFL with LED bulbs. But that is easier said than done. Most of the suggestion would only work if we have a good infra and people are being made aware of these things. Hence, we as a responsible citizen should also take up these task to make people aware of how to use electricity in more efficient ways. If you belongs to any village then you can take responsibility of your native village.
