4.In the summer, set central air conditioning units as high as is comfortable. You will save between 6 and 8 percent on your electric bill for each degree.
5.Switch to buying local foods as often as possible. Since food grown locally doesn't need to travel a long way to reach the consumer, less energy is spent in transporting the food.
6.Make sure that your car tires are properly inflated. Properly inflated tires improve mileage and are safer to drive on.

1. If you are planning on building a house, consult a green architect. Green architecture maximizes the effect of natural light and uses alternative, renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power.
2.Unplug your appliances when not in use. Many appliances have an "instant on" feature that causes the appliances to constantly use electricity.
3. Preferably use desert cooler over AC

Sir, my views are the following for a sustainable energy:
1. Hon'able PM, if could promote usage of desert coolers instead of Air Conditioners. Acs typically consume 2X more electricity than Coolers and also leads to release of CFC causing damage to the environment. This problem is prone if cities like Delhi where electricity consumption goes to peak due to usage of ACs.

use of solar energy
big organization must compulsorily make use of this technique
the initial cost may be high but they can earn big profit by continuous usage
gov should promote grid facility
give loan facility or some other facility to raise fund

Sometimes people are too lazy to switch off the lights. Home automation is possible while the use of IoT can make things a lot more simpler. Stress on IoT more and with Intel, it is possible to create such a system.

Stop corruption at meter reading level. When people will pay they will save.Use automatically technology to collecting consumption, diagnostic, and status data from water meter or energy metering devices (gas, electric) and transferring that data to a central database for billing, troubleshooting, and analyzing. It will saves utility providers the expense of periodic trips to each physical location to read a meter and corruption in India to change meter reading . And Ultimately help save Energy.

At places like colleges, universities, schools, offices, malls, and other such large establishments which have a big footfall in their premises, installation of motion detecting lights and appliances is a good energy saving idea. It helps switch off the utilities when no motion is detected i.e. no human presence.
