Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Railway is the biggest consuming of diesel next to Defence by spending huge amount of foreign currency and creating pollution . more over out of total diesel consumed 30% of its being stolen by railway staffs. Every year the amount stolen for this can be used for constructing new rail traction lines with own know-how, creating new job,for high speed save time, keeping environment out of chemical and sound pollution, saving foreign currency which is the main challenge in petroleum sector

It is possible to implement barcoding and GPS monitoring for individual LPG cylinder with very less investment of money and this is permanent - one time solution which will keep close vigilance on the distributors and user. It is also possible to restrict their movements within area of distributor. This will also help us in case of diversion of subsidies cylinder for commercial purpose to locate issuing authority and online punishment to entire team of consumer, distributor.

The issue of LPG distribution can very well be tacked through the centralized distribution system having the provision of pipe gas to all the consumers. The consumers entitled for subsidy can maintain the pre paid smart meter which can block the supply once the credit amount is over basis their monthly allocation. This type of facility can be restricted to persons not entitled for such subsidy. Today the most well to do families are also availing the LPG subsidy where as needy suffers.
