Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

As a whole petroleum is a limited natural resources, Hence we have to search for alternative source of renewable energy. For India we have a large sea coast. By using tidal & wave energy we can generate sufficient amount of electrical energy. Also solar energy can be used for alternating sources of energy.

petroleum companies need to pay 1% of their turnover for research for alternate to fossil fuel. and please dont spend this money making buildings for labs. Hire the best in the world on war footing. The nation wont survive if you we don't find substitute to fossil fuel. Also fusion reactor. 7 years it will be available in the market. If we dont make it ,we will be spending a fortune buying it, if somebody gives that to us.

Public transport intensity should be increased across all major cities. this will reduce the personal vehicles like cars and bikes. and this will save Fuel time, and traffic. State transport should take more initiatives for rapid transportation. This can save on Crude imports also.

Respected PM, E&P Sector is very challenging and Rig contracts and all other contracts should be drafted very well from Risk Mgmt and Proper Execution point of view. Although contract can not one sided but should be also investor friendly and all the risks can be covered by Company, Contractor or by taking insurance and discussion with the Concerned party. Cost saving and cost cutting should be continuous process as the crude prices are moving from USD 75 to 120 USD per barrel within short span.

Urban India produces over 50 million metric tons of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) annually. Out of which 4 million metric tons are plastic waste. If we can collect it as a part of Swachh Bharat project, we can generate 3 billion litres of fuel (diesel/ petrol/ furnace oil). This can be achieved by linking elecricity suppy with waste management of families!
