Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Petroleum exploration must be encouraged. Oil corridor should be envisioned to ensure efficient deliveries across nation. Oil transportation to be encouraged through pipelines. Efficiency of PSUs should be increased bench-marking private players in this sector. ONGC has 8 times more employees per unit of oil production as compared to Cairns. This efficiency gap should be reduced. Recovery of petroleum subsidy should be from luxury class such as cigarette and liquor consumers.

Ban all porn / sex related web sites in India. This is done very well in Middle East countries. Great control and restrictions in viewing porn related web sites will greatly reduce the violence against women. Such web sites really pollute mankind. Govt. should act quickly without waiting further time on it.
