Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Sir, I am from arrah (bihar) andvi want to have a new hp gas connection but the agency told me to pay rs.5200 for a new connection but the actual rice is rs.1950 only::then wt can I do??

Blending of ethanol with Petroleum based fuels ( Petrol & Diesel ) in higher percentages to be expedited. The Best Practices of other countries like Brazil can be learned /bench-marked. The expertise & the resources of India's Technical Institutions Like IITs to be involved / made use of.

Govt. can consider ENHANCING the IMPORTANCE & POPULARITY of the existing rewarding systems for Fuel Savings. A Visibility & Marketing equivalent to the National Film awards. More opportunities can be created by introducing more sectors. It can be made into multi levels, ( state,region, National Level etc.) The details & the best practices of the awarded projects can be forwarded to the appropriate associations, & made public in the website for horizontal deployment.
