Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Sir, if the Natural Resources in the NE sector are fully utilized by us, than I personally think that Our Country shall be one of the largest producers of petroleum based products, with minimum of imports, hence cheaper fuel rates. Participation, encouragement of local communities is the easiest way of Exploration & Production by Government Machinery. Compensation, job placements in the projects shall encourage them to participate in the different programmes.

Sir, Instead of putting majority of taxes in the petrol we consume (approx 50 to 75 % of the petrol price is tax) Why Can't you make the liquor or Cigarette So costly instead . Maybe make 1 ciggarete like 50 Rs (10 Rs Cigarette, 40 Rs tax ) and collect it from distributor.

hydrocarbon prices has been shrinkeddown to $55/ brl with 40% decrease, but as we all know this is not stable, iran have to follow the rules made by oil exporting countries one day. so the profit which india is making now by on petrol should be used in innovative offshore projects so that the price of the patrol can be controlled in future too and import can be minimized because for make in india concept we will need a lot of fuel and we can not afford overpriced fuel that time, thank you
