Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

The major problem in NE areas of country is threat of terrorists. So first of all we should give them protection against them. Second thing we should establish university of petroleum in those areas or include some basics of petroleum industry in their syllabus. Also by giving relief in taxes or any other way we can attract more companies for E&P in those areas.

Modi g i respect u for the work you are doinig for our nation...But where are the"Ache Din" .The crude oil prices are droping day by day in international markets But your petroleum minister is not reducing the prices. At this time crude prices are below $50/barrle.According to this petrol prices should be 40 rupees per litre. Then why your government is not reducing the prives of petrol and diesel.Pople are frustrated from your this eyes closing action.Reduce the price of petrol and diesel to 50

? Make more rates feasible and environment friendly in the society. This will also indirectly increase the number of passengers in metro which indirectly reduce the amount of fuel consumed by each individual in the society which indirectly reduce the demand of the petroleum products and this also will help us to maintain the balance of payment on a positive side. Petroleum alternative. We do have an option of Ethanol & Biodiesel but are these only options available. We need think and make corrective steps by utilizing natural resource at the maximum. Simple example we have lots of capital being invested on metro but have we every thought making it more useful and economical but implementing solar panel on the grids of the track rail or on top of the metro. Which will also help us to generate power?

But there is no clear accountability or transparency of the oil resource extracted and utilized in India. We are heavily dependent on foreign country for oil resource. Why do not we invest more on research and development? We have always followed the old route of following the path laid by someone else but we have never tried to show the world a path. This is the time that the world is expecting something from us and this is the right time we take the lead.

Dear Sir, I do know that India has abundance of natural resource. India has rich culture of making constitution too. India is good at administrative level too but the problem arises implementing it into practical world and execution level. We might do hundred things on the books and execution or implementation of law on society is nil. There is huge petroleum reserve in Indian Ocean and few companies have started to explore on it too.

We should start using and producing Ethanol & Biodiesel instead of Petrol and Diesel. It is very environment friendly and financially beneficial for India. It is used by USA and Brazil and they have cut down import of Crude from Gulf countries.I hope INR will be strong once we cut down on our crude import.
