Sustainable Exploitation of oil and gas potential of the North East region could be a harbinger of economic prosperity for the people of the region. Presently there seems to be a disconnect between the local communities and the Exploration and Production (E&P) operators in the region. This seems to be discouraging E&P activities in the region thereby reducing the number of takers for operations in the region. Although the Govt. of India has been taking several initiatives to promote E&P in the NER, it is essential to make the local communities an important stakeholder in the process.

Suggestions are invited from the public which could encourage people's participation in these activities.

Nagaland has very large untapped areas for exploration of Petroleum. But one should convince them to use their land for larger interest. They should be adequately compensated and their ecosystem should not be disturbed.

GOBAR GAS PLANTS MUST BE PLANTED IN EVERY CITY/TOWN/VILLAGE OF INDIA & USE COW DUNG TO RUN THEM & PRODUCE GOBAR GAS WHICH IS A VERY GOOD ALTERNATE OF LPG. OUR “RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT” DEPARTMENT SHOULD CARRY OUT RESEARCH WORK TO USE THESE GOBAR GAS AS A GOOD FUEL LIKE CNG FOR RUNNING VEHICLES. COW IS A HUGE NATURAL RESOURCE IN OUR COUNTRY TO PRODUCE GOBAR. THIS WILL ALSO STOP COW KILLING IN INDIA

Conservation of petroleum products is dire need of the day. Most of personal vehicles are occupied by a single person. This is only because we do not have efficient public transport system. We need to discourage personal vehicles by introducing effective measures like Designating parking places in towns, Park and ride facilities around towns. Bringing prices of diesel at par with petrol (for use in cars only in red or blue colour) and making public trasport system efficient & effective.

Actually if we try to keep india clean so we can do a small thing. make it compulsory for every citizens in the country to use different dustbins for wet and dry garbage. so municipality will not have any need to spend crors of rupee to separate wet and dry garbage. also there will be improvement of cleanliness..

Presently crude oil prices are on decline trend. I would like to suggest that during low crude oil prices we should stop crude exploration in india and buy crude oil from other countries with lower prices. Also we should increase our crude oil reserve with buying low prices crude because in future crude oil prices will increase. By this step we will save our indian region crude which can explore later when crude prices increase.

It is these mundane essentials that Mr Parrikar must focus on. Appointing a tri-service chief would spare him the confusion of having to navigate the tri-service jockeying for funds and resources. He must institute a detailed capability audit, in which each service presents a plan for optimising their existing weapons and platforms rather than just stretching out their palms for newer, better and, of course, more expensive toys.
