With a dramatic growth in elementary education enrolments and improvements in retention and transition rates in recent years, particularly amongst the more disadvantaged groups, there is an increasing pressure on the secondary schools to admit more students. With the enforcement of RTE Act and further improvement in retention and transition rates, demand for secondary schooling will grow rapidly in the coming years. The objective of this discussion group is to assess to what extent we have made quality education available, accessible and affordable to the target population in the age group of 14–18 years. How we can increase access to post elementary education across the country in a manner so as to ensure no child is denied the opportunity of completing his/her school education. In particular, how can we address the geographical and social disparities in secondary education?

There are too many teachers that does not do anything in their schools. To avoid them, please make a strict rule that they will be in the govt service if and only if his/her child will study in school in which he/she teaches. So, that if he/she is destroying someone future, the future of his son/daughter will also be in danger.

Quality is the most important criteria. Local governments are a real threat to the education policy of nation. They simple pass every student to achieve 100% result. Kerala is the best example.

Respected Dignitaries, Wish all of you a Happy Republic Day. I have a huge interest to know what India is planning to do to increase scope and reach of higher education to deserving students. Education loan interest rates from banks are still 12-13%, which seem significantly higher compared to present Car loan interest rates. I think we should make this a national priority and make higher education affordable and loan application process much easier.

Respected Sir, I would like to give you a suggestion, after the huge success of opening the enormous numbers of bank accounts and the sanitation project, we can also add a few more things in the same projects for example we can add all the schools for opening the bank accounts for minors as well as for there parents and club the Adhar initiative with it so that whatever benefits we give goes to the students directly. Also we ask the Hospital to adopt schools like your M.P.'s adopted villages.
