2) At a time in India where along with other items the cost of medicines and medical treatment is shooting up, this will be a great boon to Central Government employees. In the private sector ESIC benefit is made available to employees on payment of contribution. We find ESIC dispensaries and hospitals in every nook and corner of India. Similarly why cannot CGHS benefit be made available to all Central Government employees irrespective of area?

1) Although there is CGHS benefit to all Central Government employees on payment of a reasonable sum, it can be availed by only those residing in areas covered by CGHS Hospitals. At present there are only 24 places in India covered by these hospitals. If this facility is made available to all Central Government employees who are ready to contribute to the same, they can travel all the way to the nearest CGHS hospital for treatment at his own expense.

Working hours for all jobs are 8 hours per day. Then why are staff of Government Hospitals working 5 hours only i.e from 8.00 AM to 1.00 PM. Instead of 8.00 AM they come after 9.00 A.M. and instead of 1.00 PM leave around 12.00 PM or even earlier if there are no patients. The same is applicable in the case of ESIC dispensaries and hospitals We find staff of private hospitals and nursing homes working 8 hours. It is high time something should be done about this.
