The health subsidy should also go directly to the bank account of the BPL similar to LPG subsidy.
In Hospitals the services will be provided at regular rates and the subsidy portion will go to the account of the BPL as and when the services are availed.

Sir, mental health and care for children with developmental disorders needs more attention. We as a society continue to treat those with mental disorders with scant regard. The care givers of such individuals also need better training & counselling facilities. Recalcitrant cases need reformative centers, not "detention" centres. Substance abuse also needs more attention. We are severely short on psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors & mental health workers and institutions to train them.

Sir, with increasing antibiotic resistance, there needs to be strict guidelines issued for prescriptions & dispensation of antibiotics. MDR TB is also making its presence felt with poor adherence to DOT regime & follow up of patients. "Life Style" diseases - diabetes, hypertension, obesity and dyslipidemias take a huge toll on general health decreasing man hours, this too requires greater attention as we will soon have a "young" population that ages faster.

Sir, pharmaceutical companies need to be better monitored to lower cost of medicines. Many continue to spend enormous amounts in marketing, directed at inducing doctors, rather than on R & D. Also, with slight tweaking of a molecule they bring out "new" drugs which are charged more, but with no significant therapeutic change. Also, two medicines are combined, especially antibiotics, with the "combo drug", much more costly than the original single formulations.

I believe we can take some inputs from US Health System about which I found certain things and liked it. First every District needs to have a Centralised Hospital equivalent to AIIMS like facilities to treat all types of Diseases there only. In cases highly critical or highly specialised interventions are need should they be referred to Better rated hospitals. Doctors belonging to these districts must compulsorily serve in these hospitals for 10 yrs minimum before being allowed to open clinics.

Scientific researches should be done for AYUSH system of medicines. This will help more people to approach traditional systems without fear. The rising price of allopathic drugs due to bad Government policies is a matter of rethinking for the poor Indians. WE need health policies which help the patients not the patent holders.

In order to make a system & run it, the fundamental ingredient is people with complete dedication & trust in it, then one person who can see, inspire and set the direction. Once we have this, a little protection from power center 2 let them concentrate freely, away from politics. I repeat, what we need primarily is few people who understand that they live only for nation & the bigger goal. The face of the nation would change in no time. If it was not so, 1857 would not have seen such a big revol
