Although Indian Railways enjoy the highest captive eyeballs in a railway system internationally, it earns less than 5% of its revenues through non-tariff sources. Many of the world railway systems generate 10% to 20% of their revenues from non-tariff sources.

IR typically has focused on increasing revenues through tariff hikes. It wants to change this and challenge the conventional thinking by exploiting new sources of revenue so that every asset, tangible or non-tangible, gets optimally monetized

We invite ideas from citizens on increasing non fare revenue for Indian Railways.

Partner with ride sharing companies to integrate cab bookings with ticket booking at discounted price. This will not only help customers to get a comfortable booking, but also help railways and ride sharing companies to increase revenue.

Railways also allows the corporate companies.or fastly track connection enters India do fastly and train speed also,government fails at 70years back only,now also if increase rail connection and increase GDP also. If you asking railways also corporate companies how to increase income,simply said fastest network create fastly earning money think this manner

Increasing non-fare revenue can be achieved by two ways 1) Decreasing operational cost a) Making railways paperless as much possible. No reservation chart. Option of electronic issuing of confirmed tkt. b)Curbing corruption in small tender allotment by officers. c)Many officers employ low grade staff at their homes 2. Increasing revenues a) Giving office space to banks/pvt companies on station premise on rent. b) Old coaches can be re-modeled into house and can be sold. c) Ad revenues.

There is only one formula. Start picking up the consignments from home/source of parcels ans deliver it at the final end. Request may be booked online. Gone are the days when Railways were having monopoly. Today, door to door services are being provided by private agencies. But the railways is still in slumber. Now they have to wake up and do something for serving people. Earlier people were serving them. Now the time has changed, Railways have to serve people if it wants to survive.

Respected sir allow the compenies to make there add in the boggy inside and outside with painting outside the and take the fixed charges per year or three years in advance of each train

Install Solar Power Panels, Use required electricity from it for maintenance of Railways station and Even running Trains by it and rest you can sell it to Central Grid. This may be a long drive but reduce carbon print.

At Metro Cities & Big Railway Stations Instead of Over head railway walk way, start making underground walkway to cross the railway line, with underground SHOPS that are open 24 Hours. Rent the shops it will be income to railway, because of shop people will feel secure and the under pass will be remain clean and safe. It will be facility to people and income to Railway.

To Increasing the Indian Railway revenue, my suggestion is given below. 1. Each & Every staff of railway should use the sponsorship dress (Just Like a Indian Cricket Team)only,even Coolie also. 2.Chargeable Licence system as well as sponsorship dress should be implement for Hawkers specially in local trains for safety point of view. General Train Tickets may be issue in Advance through online booking. It is very usefull to every candidate must taken their ticket in advance and avoid rush/time taking at ticket booking counters. It is very use full to method to reduce Physical amount collection point at Railway ticket booking counters. It is time to change Digital India.
