1. We can have additional coaches as restaurants instead of traditional pantry offering berth delivery or hav it here concepts.
2. Long distance rajdhani trains can have kids play areas on chargable basis.
3. Trains can be fitted with solar panels reducing energy expenses.
4. Start a citizen railway development fund offering railway incentives and assured returns like LIC. Can also include some equity exposure.
5. Station maintenance charges can be levied on commuters.

Sir, My suggestions are: [a] Railway is having huge-quantities of material decaying in the Railway styations and around rail-tracks..they are abandoned buildings, old and new speepers, rails, and other materials - just rotting there for years. If these huge quanmtity of junk-material could be auctioned and sold in/or around-where they are,Railway can earn million croes.. [b]Railway is having lot of landed property in the key locations in major / minors cities/villages.These could be used/rented

SIR USE CHAIR CARS FOR GENERAL UN RESERVED COMPERTMETNS,, WHICH ENSURES EACH ONE HAS GOT AN SEAT... even double Decker coaches ... which gives more seats as 150 + for single coach and more trains has 4 such coaches ,, use chair cars double Decker coaches which can carry of more then 600 + passangers in general coach and also you can earn good profits from it....and the passangers too will be ensured that they will get good comfort travel in all trains....

Hi,
I think railway can do VSM[Value stream mapping]of current train running because when i travel from bidar to bangalore train running time is around 60%,40% time get wasted in waiting.if they improve in that there will be two advantages.
1.Lead time of destination reduction - public happy
2.they can add few more trains [goods, public train ] which generate revenue.

We should postpone idea of fast trains for a few years. Meanwhile the money should be used to make the railway secure as Delhi metro systems. The cost on railway is the compensation given after accidents has a large impact. The awareness program can be run for this sake. lot of volunteers can help in this.
i can also provide a list of participants.

Still railway is not friendly for the common people regarding goods/luggage carrying facility. Provide office in each town for the booking of goods along with online facility. Make it Door-to-Door facility with insurance charges. Give this facility like any other courier services. This will drastically change the revenue earnings of railway.

INCREASE T.C.:
I was in Europe & observe as soon as you start your travel in train, ticket checker comes and check your ticket. i.e. there is no chance to travel without ticket. If somebody founds without ticket his/her ID proof details are been taken, he will get the ticket in train and penalty voucher too, he/she have to pay the penalty at railway station within a week. It stops the corruption from TC. With ID details railway will have all record of the person & how many times he caught.

It's because Railways has lost focus on it's main business that is Train transport. Railway is ready to invest in all other nonsense things around it but not in main source of income. Todays railways are in bad conditions dirtier than garbage dump-yard, the station are kind of toilets, not people friendly, corrupt officers, no frequent trains between major cities in a state, slow trains and long routes, if a travel bus takes around 10 hrs to reach it's destination trains take 15hrs. Improve it.

In the trains having more than 4 hours run, reduce one toilet and convert in to small shop and provide the same on rent to individuals for selling different types of snacks, cold drinks etc. this will not only generate revenue for Railway but also generate employment for number of peoples
