1) Using more commercial space in the stations by removing sleeper waiting halls. Those existing waiting halls may use for mini theaters, play homes for kids etc.
2) Collect fee from vendors who are travelling through the trains all the days. Legally allow them to sell their items in the trains
3) Maintain mini canteens in the trains
4) Remove the automatic ticket machines in the stations and let those be maintained by private persons and collect fee from them.

Rural electrification by private parties may help generate funds for IR. Lease the unused land near tracks to private electricity companies for Solar Panels to electrify rural areas. It will serve as new employment mode, rural electrification and the electricity generation revenue will add to Indian Railways non tariff source. I can detail the plan on mail. contact: farazahmad@zhcet.ac.in

For executives: base wifi may be free but a high speed say 10mbps can be chargeable payable by card. Can even be free for 1AC to market rail that you can work as you travel versus plane
Seamless pickup/drop taxi service on identified routes e.g. SWM to ranthambore, Umaria/ katni to bandhavgarh or Udaipur/Mavli to Nathdwara on big tourist areas with range of cars from semi luxury to innovas etc.

My views air conditional carriage can use in the goods train for increase the non fare revenue and also it is useful move the goods from north to south and also south to north. Some speed courier charges may be implemented in the express trains.

I THINK INDIAN RAILWAY HAS LOT OF IDLE CAPECITY ALL OVER THE INDIA AND PERTICULARLY IN BIG CITIES IN THE FORM OF COACHES LYING IN THE YARDS OR ELSWHERE FOR NEXT JOURNEY. THOSE COACHES WHICH ARE READY FOR NEXT JOURNEY AFTER ROUTINE MAINTANCE CAN BE OUTLETED AS TEMPORARY CHANGE OVER ROOMS OR WAITING ROOMS OR RECREATOINAL SHELTERS OR OTHER FACILITIES ON HOURLY CHARGE BASIS TO THE RAILAY PASENGERS OR PUBLIC AT LARGE. THIS WILL HAVE MULTIPLE ADVANTAGE WITH MINIMUM COST AND MAXIMUM BENEFITS.

Railways are one of the main avenue for many rural and urban employment permanent as well as temporary. Currently we have hawkers only from contractors. I propose to open a channel for short term and long term hawker registration which may be valid from an hour to a week to give the majority of Startup a platform to showcase the talent as well as sell the goods or services. Along with this we can also look for redesigning the outer colour formats with sponsorship like Metro coaches.

Sir 1.Provide platform for online shopping(tie up with big online companies) specially for food, medicine & books.
2.Provide Ambulance service
3.Commercial exploitation of vacant land & space - Build Railways own lodging & boarding hotels because 70% of daily travellers travels for business purpose.
4.Develop business to business concept
5.Develop Business to Customer concept
6.Install FM/Radio in railway compartment and develop advertising.
7.Build mini malls in railway premises.

1. The main source of non fare revenue is advertisement.- Railway should put agents who will sell the space for ad on behalf of railways. The space should include form rail to station floor and all unused part of rail through e-tender.
2. The 2nd most important is hotel and hospitality - railway should tie up with hotels and food courts to provide them customers by setting up good travel offices across stations and also in online.

Sir, The Railways can generate revenue by putting large advertising screens on both sides of the tracks within city limits. These will not only generate revenue but prevent encroachments, increase security, prevent public deification. the cost of continuous standardized screens can be also be borne by the advertisers This will also help keep the area 'swatch' which is otherwise a terrible eye sore specially for the tourists.

first of all start the updation programme of the vacant seats in the reserved coaches because some persons does not board the train due to one or another reason and the vacant seat is not given to the person who is under RAC or Waiting but most of the TTEs take the bribe from the unauthorized traveller and allow them. So, the person having RAC or Waiting ticket does not get any updation from the Railways regarding the vacant seat and then all remain on the mercy of TTEs
