Our fairs and community events - be it Tarnetar in Gujarat or Bihu in Assam have all roots environment and science. I suggest to fund research in at least one University of each state to study the link between human health, positive impact on environment through traditional community fairs / events and also other science (season, climate, earth science, astronomy, physics, metallurgy, chemistry) associated with various aspects and traits. This will help spread awareness, attract youth and tourists gradually to our civilization and traditions. For e.g. how colours are made from natural sources and what is science behind it, when applied to cotton or pottery or toys etc. could uncover some sustainability ideas. Similarly study of toys could throw light on how human brain development happens and makes child learn faster, able to concentrate etc. can be other topic...

Recently in Pune we have celebrated Ganesh Festival of 10 days. Many people from various part of India as well as abroad are visited. My humble suggestion to allow our village people to open stall and sell their traditional goods. it encourage employment to local people as well as we get some amount of foreign currency from foreign visitor.

Educational Institution is the best medium to inculcate our festivals, tradition, culture.. A calender should be prepared and then circulated to all educational institutions to observe festivals and program like debate, poem recitation, painting,dance , quiz based on particular festivals. In this way students as well as their parents will be aware of that particular festival

Respected Modiji, I am Mahesh Pradhan President, and CEO of Scope Retail Systems based out of Bentonville, Arkansas USA. Hindu Association of Northwest Arkansas(HANWA), last 20 years have been celebrating Ganesh Utsav in the community to experience, enjoy and expose our culture and tradition to us, our kids as well as non-Indian communities. This year we had Patriotic Theme for decorations, and we did exhibition (around 30+) of our great Freedom Fighters who sacrificed their life for our freedom. We displayed pictures and credentials in museum style. With the Rhythm of Dhole, Tasha and Lezim we did procession of lord Ganesh. Everyone got goosebumps by reading the story of our Freedom Fighters. I think we should reach out to all our fellow Indians in various countries and encourage them to do celebrate our tradition and festivals in their communities.
