India is accelerating towards an increasingly digitised and data-driven economy. With increasing digitization and engagement, the volume of data is also increasing exponentially, providing opportunities for better governance, service delivery and innovation in sectors critical for societal transformation.

Against this backdrop, the National Data Governance Framework Policy aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas, inputs and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the hub for Data-driven innovation and decision making.

Govt should cover private agencies under this like which type of data they can collect? Screen process of data if any thing against country legal actions available to Govt most importantly Govt should make it mandatory for everyone who is dealing with data to sign pledge he or she will not use it for financial or any crime against anybody or country

It is seen that digitization of government, governance and economy is progressing at a rapid pace, here this National Data Governance Policy comes to a great help. It is indeed good policy in todays’ scenario and be implemented quickly and honestly. If any loopholes come up while or during implementation it can be solved after discussions amongst knowledgeable, eligible, reliable personnels and citizens. Nice draft policy.
