India is accelerating towards an increasingly digitised and data-driven economy. With increasing digitization and engagement, the volume of data is also increasing exponentially, providing opportunities for better governance, service delivery and innovation in sectors critical for societal transformation.

Against this backdrop, the National Data Governance Framework Policy aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas, inputs and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the hub for Data-driven innovation and decision making.

Government should enact tight laws to punish those who steal and sell the data for Tele Marketing Agencies and Private Banks, Insurance Companies and Real Estate Agents. TRAI should control all telecom network providers and ensure that all data of the customers are safe and protected. All Social Media sites like Facebook Twitter Instagram Pinterest YouTube should be monitored by our Government and check whether they breach and sell the users data illegally and earn crores of rupees. There should be a restriction in pumping of advertisements using Artificial Intelligence. Even online shopping platforms should be strictly prohibited Every citizen should have their right to Privacy. Government should identify and post a list where the documents like Aadhaar number and PAN number can be provided.

The IDMO should maintain Databases to make the day-to-day administration easier for the citizens. While a person registers a house at the Registrar office, the digital advancement should be such that then and there all other household applications for connections to Electricity, Water & Sanitation, etc. should be registered and maintained in a single record with a Unique No., like Aadhaar or PAN, maybe as a Primary Key. Once we enter the Primary Key, all previous record of the concerned house/plot/office premises should appear in a GUI based report PDF.
