India is accelerating towards an increasingly digitised and data-driven economy. With increasing digitization and engagement, the volume of data is also increasing exponentially, providing opportunities for better governance, service delivery and innovation in sectors critical for societal transformation.

Against this backdrop, the National Data Governance Framework Policy aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas, inputs and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the hub for Data-driven innovation and decision making.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Data Governance Framework Policy (PDF 509 KB)

Data Policy should include protection revivial and spread glorification of bharat's ancient traditions. Bharat has survived millenia . Only in last 75 years & that too as a soverign nation, everything sanatani has been obliterated with the full force of Indian guran & tughlaq collegium gandy marji ! their hatred for hindus is too high when it is only one nation that has hindu population in the world & that too worse than any minority . Not 1 temple architecture taught even in Indian universities . one temple supported the whole district if not state earlier, y it can't do so now . Ditto for indian food , spices, yoga, ayurveda, astronomy, jyotish , vishwakarmas- include all engineering skills , All these need to be protected with Intellectual property rights & good royalty income. No history of draughts & pandemics . there were havans, prayers , mantras & rishi tap for benefit of society and country at large. can we do it again.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) recently released the revised Draft National Data Governance Framework Policy (NDGFP) and invited inputs on it before June 11th, 2022. NDGFP replaces Draft India Data Accessibility and Use Policy, 2022. The Draft National Data Governance Framework Policy (NDGFP) aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in accordance with the emerging technology needs. According to the ministry, this policy ensures the security of data and informational privacy. NDGFP standards and rules will cover all data collected and managed by any government entity. In February 2022, ‘Draft India Data Accessibility and Use Policy, 2022’ was opened for public consultation but it was strongly criticized by many. It proposed to allow the licensing and sale of public data by the government to the private sector.

The development comes after a strong criticism of the previous "Draft India Data Accessibility and use policy, 2022 ,"which was opened for public consultation in February, and had aims to "radically transform Indias ability to harness public sector data".It proposed to permit the licensing and sale of public data by the government to the private sector.

Data should be made easily available on the net. people should be made to think of development in their life. Any government for example TRS claims big achievement, people should know if there is any improvement in their life. or else change the government is necessary
