The auction of government lands indeed generates valuable revenue that supports immediate development. However, while this provides thousands of crores in the short term, it is equally important to safeguard the interests of future generations. Therefore, I sincerely propose that at least 10–25% of the revenue earned from government land auctions be reinvested to purchase land parcels around the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR) of towns and cities. This will help the government retain appreciating assets, ensure land availability for future infrastructure, and create a financial cushion for generations to come. If possible, a policy or bill may be introduced so that successive governments continue this prudent practice for the benefit of our nation’s future.
