The Indian civil aviation ector has been plagued with several embarassing accidents over the last couple of years. While the fatalities in Aeroplanes are more the number of accidents in Helicopters are more. I have flown for almost 30 years scratchlessly in toughest terrains in toughest roles even on NVGs (I still have the highest hrs and was asked by a country to train their civil Pilots which I refused since my mother does not keep well. I am saddened that while i get lot of respect abroad .. My own country I am not able to contribute due bureaucratic and regulatory bottlenecks. NVG in Helicopters not started in civil world .. I can train 10 Pilots to start the process in an incremental way and within no time we will be at par with the world AND I PROMISE NO ACCIDENTS ..My efforts at improving safety have been in vain.. In view of global conflicts affecting fuel availability, especially LPG cylinders, I would like to present a humble suggestion. Community biogas plants may be established for every cluster of 4–5 villages. These plants can use locally available cattle dung to produce clean cooking gas, while the residue can be converted into organic compost, reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers like urea. This initiative can lower India’s reliance on imported fuel and fertilizers, while promoting rural self-reliance, sustainability, and local employment. Citizens should also be encouraged to adopt small-scale biogas solutions. Future challenges are inevitable, and it is important that both government and society work together proactively. This can serve as a practical and eco-friendly step toward a self-reliant India.
