Covering various aspects of topics related to the Panchayati Raj System, Schemes and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through this ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ iconic week, let’s provide a strong source of inspiration to all citizens of this country inviting their ideas on the PanchayatVision@2047.

A streamlined governance, especially at the local level benefits the nation as a whole. India is a signatory to the UN 2030 Agenda to achieve inclusive and people-centric sustainable development through the 17 SDGs.

Thus, with greater cooperation from the citizens of India, efforts of the Government of India and the local bodies towards a qualitative and quantitative transformation of the Panchayati Raj System would be fulfilled.

Last date to share your ideas is 14th May 2022.

We are not creating a parallel system. We are strengthening the  panchayat raj  system. Village secretariat is a part of panchayat and will run under the sarpanch. It is his government and he can address the ground-level issues. Mahatma Gandhi wanted villages to be empowered. We have fulfilled his dream by establishing village secretariats. Earlier governments tried to create parallel systems in the name of various groups, contract employes. We are strengthening the constitutional bodies, by doing away with extra-constitutional employees and systems.

Taxes should be collected online in one bank account managed by District Collectorate. As of now taxes are being collected by Gram Panchayats in offline mode. They provide a raw receipt and no one checks for authenticity. I request central government to develop a system which allows Citizens under Panchayat to pay taxes online in one bank account managed by District Collectorate. Afterwards District Collectorate can disburse the amount to panchayat as needed. There would be no corruption at Panchayat level tax collection if you collect online taxes Centrally managed by District Collectorate.
