MeitY is seeking comments from citizens on the Draft Report on Circular Economy in Electronic Waste.

It has drafted an action plan report which provides recommendations on feasible solutions of circular economy transformation in the e-Waste Sector based on best global practices.

The recommendation includes the entire value chain of the products including raw-material acquisition, design & manufacturing of components, consumption, end-of-life, and recycling, and recovery stages, secondary raw materials, circular economy evaluation indicators, etc. to ensure

•Product-life extension
•Responsible disposal
•Strengthening Recycling Systems
•Sustainable Manufacturing Process

Contd---Recycling of electronic components needs help from qualified hardware engineers to establish a new product, use or assembling into a new board at micro levels. Govt should levy tax on electronic gadgets for disposal of the equipment after the life cycle in advance. This can create funds for the non profitable recycling. And the company should establish type of waste generated at the end of its life & approx value at present value.

E-waste such huge problem in the developing countries like India so it is the need of hour to make sure that companies who especially manufacturer who create such waste must regulate themselves.also strong and integrated implementation system is needed at same time.

Contd---Electronic components for reuse can be thought of depending on the life of individual components.A resistor for example can be reused for less important jobs if the value of component is ok & justifies the cost.Only important issue is desoldering which involves lead solder which is harmful.Another item is acid washing of circuit board to recover copper and lead. Recycling electronic components needs help from qualified hardware engineers to establish a new circuit at microlevels.Contd---

Contd---For example old refrigerator can be striped to make a good cold box in villages with proper drain & supports with good beeding.The compressor, condenser, freezer box, the gas in it could be salvaged for metal & gas.One area should be for one item like refrigerator,washing machine, microwave ovens,dish washer TVs computers,Ups,printers the idea is workers get expertise, recognition of parts & salvage value. Electronic waste should be used to our advantage.This can create employment as it's labourius.We need to take care of health & working environments.The entire waste based on category wise distributed all over the country zonewise or statewise.Where there are dim scope for agriculture or industrial activity this work could create employment on micro level. For example old refrigerator can be striped to make a good cold box in villages with proper drain & supports with good beeding. Contd---+
