Contd --- increase steel production for the container fabrication. The Indian containers can bring goods to ports or local goods on the return & save fuel .Also real time monitoring of container inventory. This can improve handling of containers in more smart & scientific way to save energy, man power, time, foreign exchange. Better preparedness for discharge of vessels without damarage.

Indian port bill should have a new strategy. The contents in foreign containers should be discharged into Indian containers fabricated to int'l standards. This can cut down foreign exchange lost for the rental as these containers have to move inland & sometimes move empty back to ports.Every container should be electronically tagged with GPS to show it's location real time. This can create employ ment for fabrication of containers Handling of goods outside port if required in safe custody -contd-.

we surely need good infra- structure at our indian ports. but more important is simplifying import and export procedures. they are way more complicated as compared to other south east asians countries. again india is the only country which displays all import and export data which means everyone knows who is importing or exporting and at what value. this makes indian exporters an open book and other nations take advantage unduly. in time no indian company will be able to compete because of this.
