Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has undertaken an exercise for review and revision of the National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015. This has been necessitated considering rapid transformation in technology, emerging market requirements, changing global scenario, and evolving skilling and entrepreneurship landscape.

A draft of the National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2025 has been prepared that aims to provide a comprehensive framework for all skilling and entrepreneurship activities being carried out in the country, and to align them with the national priorities. The aspirations underlining the draft national policy are: scale, quality and inclusion. For realization of these aspirations, key principles, thrusts and enablers have also been indicated. The draft national policy also seeks to establish clarity, coherence and convergence for skill development and entrepreneurship promotion efforts across the country. It also seeks to link skill development and entrepreneurship promotion to the improved employability and productivity outcomes.

To ensure that the revised National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2025 is aligned with current and emerging requirements, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India in collaboration with MyGov invites inputs/suggestions from general public as well as researchers, startups, civil society, and domain experts.

Your suggestions on the draft policy will help in shaping and sharpening the policy prescriptions along with the key deliverables.

I strongly suggest that the skill development shall start at the middle school level, parents and teacher has to keep options in front of student (boy or girl) to select. Support and encourage them to focus on the surrounding development in this global village. In the Summer holidays parents are searching various activities to keep their dependents busy in the skillful activities. Education department has to come-up with skills in demand to learn and execute by the teenagers.

CLASS 1 WILL BE LEARNING ATTICATES WITH PRACTICAL AND THEROTICAL MANNER. WHERE CLASS 10 WILL BE LEARNING HOW TO INVEST, HOW TO TACKLE CHALLENGES IN MARKET TO MORE PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED CHAPTERS. Promote national standards in the skilling space through active involvement of employers in setting occupational standards, helping develop curriculum, providing apprenticeship opportunities, participating in assessments, and providing gainful employment to skilled workforce with adequate compensation. Operationalize a well defined quality assurance framework aligned with global standards to facilitate mobility of labour. Leverage modern technology to ensure scale, access and outreach, in addition to ease of delivering content and monitoring results.

Make quality vocational training aspirational for both youth and employers whereby youth sees it as a matter of choice and employer acknowledges the productivity linked to skilled workforce by paying the requisite premium. Ensure both vertical and horizontal pathways to skilled workforce for further growth by providing seamless integration of skill training with formal education. Focus on an outcome based approach towards quality skilling that on one hand results in increased employability and better livelihoods for individuals, and on the other hand translates into improved productivity across primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. Increase the capacity and quality of training infrastructure and trainers to ensure equitable and easy access to every citizen.
