To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until 15th July 2023.

Respected Sir, To support Government's skill India mission wont it be better if government reduces the seats fo regular degree courses which have become obsolete in terms of giving jobs, rather increase the seats for vocational and skill based degree courses which will give more jobs and produce more entrepreneurs. Every university or college has 100-150 seats allotted for each regular subject, it means 150 students study that particular subject investing 4 years now as new education policy for example we take history as regular subject my question is how many of these students will make career in feild of history? I think and as per my observation not more than 20 per class of 150 then why should 130 students waste their years studying history. We take 30 more cracked some competition and got jobs What about remaining 100 they go jobless By limited seats for regular subjects and strict counselling for admission in these subjects you get quality output. Education 1) Instead of dogmatic, transform the curriculum into something dynamic. ... 2) Give Teachers their Due by Paying Them More. ... 3) Convert Private Institutes into Profit-making Ones Rather than Non-Profit. ... 5) Use the Influence and Fame of Alumni. Sir This is my opinion. Murali Manohar Retired chief manager SBI

Several aspects needs to factored like 1. What are the efforts by the Institute to strengthen poorly performing students. For example , good ranked( before higher education ) students do not always fare well in higher education. There are no efforts by majority of the institutes , to bring low grade students in first quarter of their education . It is the negligence of students, parents and the Institutes to witness students obtain higher education degree without actually learning what they are supposed to . That is why India producing millions of poor quality graduates . Continued
