With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Greetings Sir, I am proud that we have shifted to the GST system. I am an marketing professional with years of intl experience. I am taking baby steps to start a proprietorship firm. Sadly the system and processes are still illogical. I tried to open an current a/c, however I can't open an account if I am trying to start a firm operating from my residence initially. I have to register for GST first when I have no income or staff yet. I can open a biz & a/c in HongKong in a week but not here

Respected PM Sir, First of all I would congratulate you to implement GST in India. One Tax One Nation. I would like to share my concern that Govt. of UP could not understand the purpose of UP. They have implemented E Way Bill in place of Form 38. Previously a trader use to bring material from other states against Form C & threat of tax evasion to Govt. Now a trader is bringing the material after paying GST on full amount & full tax. Please take steps to stop E Way Bill implementation for growth

Respected PM Sir, GST is a revolutionary step taken by our government. Main concern is with small traders and semi wholesalers who are not high-tech and not having proper knowledge of accounts and GST Act. Advocates/CA's who have knowledge of Act and Accountants who prepare regular accounts of clients have increased their annual fees by 4-5 times. A trader who is now paying 10000/- p.a. for compliance will now have to pay 40000-50000 for the same. This is hearting them a lot.

Sir, I am very much happy with GST but I am afraid of loopholes in policy. In Textile. Yarn have 18% GST credit to buyer but Buyer will collect 5% GST so no difference to pay. If Yarn manufacturer will not sell it to other but complete all process upto retailer , He will not have to pay GST as he will get 18% credit and collect 5% GST in all next stage of manufacturing. Please, Clerify it as due to this all Big Players who can afford process from Yarn to final Products will swallow small one.

As you requested to reduce the gst rate , it can be possible as per decision of higher authorities but another point is that if the traders make thies cost reduced or make an standard margin and sold the goods at low rate then impact of gst can be bearable but ultimately the cost can only be reduced if the government cutt done the rates on which the teader are making purchases .Ultimately only to say gst is implemented is not enough for the compliance , the gov. have to take initiative for trad
