With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Just don't know whom to address this, Before GST we used to pay Service TAX and other Taxes which was included in price showing on Menu card. now after GST they charge extra 18%/28% on the old price(which already has Service Tax). If I am correct As per Gov GST replacing All taxes. thats means they has to remove Taxes from Old Price and then charge GST :( Someone needs to take a stand against and speak

Congratulations and thanks for bringing GST in our country. However, there should be actions w.r.t. a few loopholes. First, it has multiple tax slabs which in turns hurts basic principle of GST. We should not have more than 4 tax rates (including 0% as tax rate). It will further simplify the transactions and ensure equal preference to all sorts of business. Second, shopkeepers having turnover

Sir, The GST is the excellent way to track the tax liability. But please tell me why you have left a big hole of tax passage from it. Now the shopkeepers whose turn over is approximately 20 Lakh is about to divide their business in three or four parts in the name of the family members. Please stop any loop whole in it. Let everybody using business should register despite the value of transactions. It will only create the good example.
